Anais Blondet Medina is a Peruvian-born/New York City-raised artist and filmmaker. Absurdist humor, practical effects, and surrealist camp are the staples of her work. On set, Anais enjoys super high levels of joyful creative energy and she loves telling camera department people what to do (or “collaborating”).
After attending film school at SVA, Anais began working as a freelance director and editor for short form branded content, documentary and narrative series, and feature documentary films. Her work has been featured on HBO, Netflix, CNN, National Geographic, MTV, OWN, Travel Channel, Canal+, at the American Museum of Natural History, The National Museum of Women in the Arts, and the Met. Commercial clients she has sold her soul to include Chevy, Dove, Coors, Peloton, Volvo, Turbotax, Target, Toyota, and MassMutual.
In her spare time, Anais has recorded four albums of original music and she has collaborated as a singer and keyboardist in several bands performing punk, prog, and Latin math rock. Thanks to her close ties to the music world, Anais is frequently asked to direct low budget/high concept music videos for musicians and bands that nobody knows. She is currently working on a comic book about her misadventures navigating NYC fertility clinics.
